- Story: I took martial arts when I was a kid and hadn't practiced in years. Started taking 'lessons' from a Guy named Tom in NY when I was like 5, with my Brothers; enough to make me interested. I started learning a little from my Dad's friend Carl when I was about 9, on a very irregular basis. I started to practice on a much more intense level with a neighbor, Derek, who took several styles in his life. At the age of 16 I ripped a hamstring muscle and never fully recovered my limberness...got discouraged; and stopped practicing.
In Sept of 2008 I joined Guardian MMA, in Murfreesboro, TN, where my son has practived since July of 2006. We are now taking Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes together, at the home gym of UFC TUF fighter Shane Primm!
